Registration under way for Cape animal shelter’s golf classic

By CJ HADDAD - | Oct 21, 2021

Golfers can grab their clubs and hit the links next month to benefit the Cape Coral Animal Shelter, as registration is underway.

The 5th Annual Cape Coral Animal Shelter Golf Classic tees off on Nov. 20 at Coral Oaks Golf Course with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. One of the shelter’s signature events, the golf classic brings awareness and support to CCAS, as all proceeds secured from the event go to the care and well-being of all of the animals at the shelter and helps further their mission.

“We live a pet centric and animal loving community, and the Cape Coral Animal Shelter is a very special place to many here in Southwest Florida,” said Event Chair Pamela Aubuchon. “The Cape Coral Animal Shelter is the first no-kill animal shelter and veterinary clinic designed for the purposes of making a difference in our community and giving a voice to those who need.”

On-course beverages such as beer, soda and water are included, as well as a luncheon reception with goodie bags and prizes. Hole-in-one prizes include a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Lardeo and $10,000.

The golf classic has been a staple event for the shelter and was a primary fundraiser that brought the facility to fruition.

“Our Director Team includes some of Cape Coral’s finest and successful leaders in our community,” Aubuchon said. “Through their leadership, dedication and passion, the no-kill shelter was given life. The Cape Coral Animal Shelter brings top- of-mind awareness and represents the special bond between people and animals by means of adoption services, medical care, education and training for the prevention of cruelty and abandonment. CCAS provides a safe place where animals will receive the care they need and remain until they are placed in a qualified, forever home. After all, it is ‘fore’ the animals.”

Foursomes for the event are $500 and sponsorship opportunities are available until Nov. 1. For more information on CCAS and to register or become a sponsor for the event, visit capecoralanimalshelter.com. Coral Oaks Golf Course is at 1800 N.W. 28th Ave.

“Our team is very grateful for the continued support, kindness and generosity so freely given to our organization by our donors, volunteers and members of our community,” Aubuchon added. “The support of the Cape Coral Animal Shelter serves a greater purpose of making our world a better place, one paw print at a time.”
