Cape Coral police continue to investigate fatal drive-by shooting on Veterans Memorial Parkway

The Cape Coral Police Department continues to investigate a drive-by shooting that took place early Sunday morning, resulting in the death of Jadwin Lebronze-D’Last Carrion.  

Police said just after midnight on Sunday, Carrion was driving east on Veterans Memorial Parkway when someone in another vehicle shot at his, then fled the area.

CCPD officers found Carrion, 24, dead in his car when they arrived on scene. Police said a passenger in the vehicle was also shot and transported to a local hospital for treatment.  

“Major Crimes Detectives and Forensic Specialists are investigating this incident,” CCPD officials said in a release Monday.  

Officers added there is no threat to the public.  

“This shooting is an isolated incident. There is no danger to the public at this time.”
