John Carioscia

The City of Cape Coral mourns the loss of former District 2 Council Member John Carioscia. The former councilmember passed away Sunday due to complications from COVID-19.

“It is with profound sadness to learn of John’s Passing. He cared deeply about our city and we are grateful for his dedication, leadership, and many contributions to our Cape Coral community. I extend my deepest condolences to the Carioscia family and ask our community to pray for John’s family during this very difficult time,” Mayor John Gunter said in a statement issued Monday morning.

Carioscia served two consecutive terms from 2011 until 2020.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
