The Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organization will hold a public hearing for the adoption of the 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan Friday, Dec. 18, at 9 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Lee County Administration East Facility, 2201 Second St., Room 118, Fort Myers. This location is accessible by transit by LeeTran Route 20 or the Gold Trolley Route, and more information on service can be found at www.rideleetran.com.

The Long Range Plan identifies the cost feasible transportation projects for roads, transit and bicycle/pedestrian improvements through the year 2045.

 The MPO Board will also be holding a public hearing to consider an amendment to the FY 2020/2021 through FY 2024/2025 Transportation Improvement Program to add $200,000 in operating assistance for LeeTran. The TIP includes the federal and state funded transportation projects that are programmed in Lee County over the next five years.

Written comments received by the end of the business day on Thursday, Dec. 17, will be presented to the MPO board members on Dec. 18, where formal adoption will be decided.
