By Staff | Apr 10, 2020

As a part of the state’s advance planning efforts and in anticipation of potential need, the state has deployed a 250-bed field hospital to Lee County, the Joint Information Center on COVID-19 for the State of Florida announced Friday morning. This field hospital will staged at the Lee County Mosquito Control District until a final location is identified.

“It is important to note that this facility is designed to serve as overflow for area hospitals and is not intended to serve ICU or critical patients,” the release states. “The field hospital will be set up and open when there is a need for additional support in the area.”
