By Staff | May 11, 2009

TALAHASSEE (AP) – Officials have confirmed 31 more cases of swine flu in Florida, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 55.

The Florida Department of Health on Monday said the new confirmed cases of the virus were in Osceola, Brevard, Sarasota, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Broward, Dade, Lee, Manatee, Marion and Lake counties.

There are also four probable swine flu cases in Flagler, Palm Beach and Okaloosa counties.

Last week, state labs received testing supplies from the Centers for Disease Control, allowing health officials to confirm cases of the virus faster.
