County to open two parking lots as paid public parking for nights and weekends in the Fort Myers River District

By Staff | Apr 29, 2024

More public parking will be available to Fort Myers River District visitors starting May 6 when Lee County opens two lots to the public as paid parking in the evenings and weekends.

Lee County’s Jury parking lot, at 2050 Broadway, and the surface-level employee parking lot, at 2122 Monroe St., will both become available to the public as paid parking in the evenings and on weekends.

The parking in the Jury parking lot will remain free for jurors only from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Parking will be a flat rate of $5.35 for a 12-hour window from 5:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday and weekends from 5:30 p.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Monday.

Ways to Pay:

• Pay by phone. After pointing a smartphone camera at the QR code posted in the lot, patrons will receive a link through text message that will allow them to pay for parking. Or – after texting PARK to a short code – they will receive a link through text message that will allow them to pay for parking.

• Pay at Kiosk. Patrons can locate the Premium Parking kiosk in the parking lot, enter their license plate number, enter the amount of time they wish to park and then pay using cash, debit or credit card. Kiosks do not give change.

• Pay on Computer. Patrons can go to the Premium Parking website, locate the parking lot, enter the license plate number and follow the instructions from there for payment.

If patrons realize they will not have enough time to return to their vehicles, Premium Parking offers a convenient option to extend the time if purchased using the mobile app. Time cannot be extended if purchased through the kiosk, except by returning to the kiosk and paying for another 12-hour block.
