America’s Boating Course to be offered in June

America’s Boating Club Fort Myers will be offering America’s Boating Course, a complete program covering the basics of recreational boating starting on May 26. The boat safety course is designed for boaters using all types of watercraft.

This NASBLA approved boat safety course includes chapters which cover:

• Boat Education: General information about boats and personal watercraft, and their maintenance.

• Boat Safety: How to make your boating safer and more comfortable.

• Boating Laws and Regulations: Federal and State laws and regulations that you must follow.

• Prepares for State Licensing – Boater ID Card.

Registration and intro is on Sunday, May 26 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

The course follows in two sessions:

• Sunday, June 2 from 2 to 6 p.m.

• Sunday, June 9 from 2 to 6:30 p.m.

Cost is $50 for singles and $60 for couples sharing materials. Only cash or check can be accepted.

Intro and classes are at Fort Myers Power Squadron – America’s Boating Club® at 3145 Royalston Ave. in Fort Myers.

Please Note: Florida law requires all persons born on or after Jan. 1, 1988, to complete a safe boating class to receive a Florida Boater’s ID card and legally operate a boat with 10 or more horsepower in Florida.
