Folk/Americana artist Sofia Talvik will perform

Folk/Americana artist Sofia Talvik will be gracing the stage for an enchanting evening of music at the Americana Community Music Association on Friday, April 13. Returning for her second performance at this esteemed venue, Talvik is excited to reconnect with the audience and share her heartfelt melodies once again.

Born and raised in Sweden, Talvik’s musical journey has taken her across 48 states, shaping her unique sound with influences from coast to coast. With her captivating melodies and heartfelt storytelling, Talvik promises an engaging and memorable performance.

The Americana Community Music Association (ACMA), known for its dedication to promoting Americana music and fostering a sense of community, provides the ideal backdrop for Talvik’s concert. ACMA is committed to supporting original independent music and musicians with programs that expand community appreciation and education while fostering the creativity and diversity that influence Americana and Roots music. Talvik expressed her excitement, saying, “I’m thrilled to be back at ACMA for another performance. It’s always a pleasure to see familiar faces in the audience and share my music with this wonderful community.”

Talvik’s latest album, released in 2023, made waves on Folk radio charts throughout the fall of that year. With her distinctive sound and emotive storytelling, Talvik has garnered recognition as one of the genre’s most captivating artists. Notably, her album was considered for a Grammy nomination in the esteemed category of Best Folk Album.

Opening the evening is local artist Kim Mayfield, featuring her original music. Better known as half of the Americana duo Reckless Saints along with husband Roy Schneider, Mayfield’s music has been described as “haunted by Patsy Cline. Together Talvik and Mayfield will offer a one of a kind concert experience.
