Wonder Gardens is hosting a family-friendly Spring Fling event on March 23 that features fun, interactive activities for children of all ages.

The park will be open March 23 for general admission from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Spring Fling runs from 10 a.m. to noon.

Event activities are targeted for children ages 3 to 12, but open to all ages and include education stations, arts and crafts, animal interactions, face painting and photo opportunities. Activities free with paid admission include a scavenger hunt, touch tables, yard games, tarot readings, yoga demonstrations and more. Special activities available as a separate ticket purchase on the day of the event include face painting, animal meet and greets, and terrarium building.

The event coincides with the end of spring break for the School District of Lee County and the end of the third quarter for the Collier County School District.

“We are excited to celebrate spring,” said Katie Grimes, education and volunteer manager at Wonder Gardens. “The event is an opportunity for families to experience all that make Wonder Gardens so special and engage in activities that promote caring for animals and our environment.”

Activities for families are planned at Wonder Gardens Spring Fling. PROVIDED

No advance registration is required.

About Wonder Gardens

The Wonder Gardens, a charitable zoological park and botanical garden established in 1936 in Bonita Springs, is home to rescued birds and reptiles nestled among sprawling banyan trees and plantings. While preserving the best of this site’s history, the nonprofit cares for rescued, rehabilitated, and non-releasable animals, is upgrading wildlife enclosures and growing the botanical beauty of the property, while delivering education programs and events and further engaging the community to enjoy this jewel in historic Downtown Bonita Springs. The Wonder Gardens at 27180 Old 41 Road, Bonita Springs is one of the few remaining cornerstones of Old Florida, an enduring symbol of the history of the region, as well as a resource for learning about the environment and wildlife.
