On Saturday, Feb. 10, Make-A-Wish Southern Florida granted 16-year-old Lionel Pequeno’s wish for a camper. Lionel, who struggles with cystic fibrosis, received a camper to make traveling easier. The Labelle resident loves to attend car and truck races but has had issues doing chest physical therapy, which loosens the mucus in his lungs, without any privacy while on the road.

Lionel’s camper was revealed at a Fort Myers Camping World in-store celebration that included balloons, banners, and decorations. There were sweet treats for the family to enjoy and additional gifts for Lionel from Camping World.

Make-A-Wish Southern Florida has granted more than 14,000 life-changing wishes since 1983 for children who have critical illnesses. It aims to grant a wish for every medically-eligible child who is referred.
