Serving those in the heart of South Lee County, Lee Health Coconut Point is celebrating its five-year anniversary in December.

The 163,500-square-foot facility located near Coconut Road and U.S. 41 in Estero first opened its doors to patients on Dec. 3, 2018, representing a new model of healthcare to serve the growing needs of the Southwest Florida community.

Lee Health Coconut Point offers convenient access to care with a number of important quality services under one roof, including an emergency department, laboratory, pharmacy, diagnostics, outpatient surgery, Lee Physician Group offices, a Healthy Life Center, rehabilitation services and educational facilities.

“We designed Lee Health Coconut Point around the needs of our patients in South Lee County and the need for a convenient location residents and visitors can go to for all of their primary care, specialist and healthcare needs,” said president and chief executive officer of Lee Health Dr. Larry Antonucci. “We are pleased that Lee Health Coconut Point has become a preventive health and wellness destination for South Lee County and beyond. We can’t wait to see where we’ll be in another five years.”

The first floor of Lee Health Coconut Point features a 24-hour emergency room, pharmacy, imaging services, laboratory for bloodwork, a breast health center with 2D and 3D mammography, cardiac testing, rehabilitation services and the Healthy Life Center, which features education and multipurpose rooms along with a kitchen where community cooking classes are offered.

The second floor consists of Lee Physician Group clinics and exam rooms, four operating rooms and two procedure rooms.

Also, Bonita Health Center is on the campus of Lee Health Coconut Point, which includes an urgent care clinic, the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Cancer Clinic, rehabilitation services, imaging services, and a host of physician specialty clinics including urology, adult GI, rheumatology, endocrinology, allergy, and pediatric behavioral health. The Bonita Health Center is part of a comprehensive campus with Lee Health Coconut Point, so community members can get the quality care they need, close to home.

Since Lee Health Coconut Point opened in 2018, Lee Health has expanded care year-over-year to meet the increasing healthcare needs of the Southwest Florida community.
