Free Dentistry Day set for Nov. 18

By Staff | Nov 15, 2023

PROVIDED

Smiles for the Community has announced its second annual Free Dentistry Day is set for Nov. 18 at Lee Dental Care, 3436 Cleveland Ave. in Fort Myers. Collaborating with the Blue Sea Dental group of practices and in partnership with volunteers from the local dental community, this offers free dental care to adults 18 and over who might not otherwise have access to dental care.

Registration will begin at 7 a.m. and end at noon, with treatment services being administered until 3 p.m. exclusively for registered patients. Registration is first come, first served so early arrival is strongly recommended. Smiles for the Community guarantees that the first 200 patients to register will be seen.

Attendees are advised to dress appropriately for outdoor waiting areas and to consider bringing along refreshments, water, and any other essentials to ensure their comfort while waiting for service. While on-site parking is limited, alternative parking arrangements have been made nearby, complemented by convenient free transportation options from off-site parking locations.

Smiles for the Community anticipates a day filled with positivity and shared happiness as participants come together to contribute to the success of this event. Adding to the atmosphere of giving, the Harry Chapin Food Bank will be onsite along with volunteer entertainers and service providers from the community.

Smiles for the Community was founded in 2022 by Dr. Paul Uliasz of Fort Myers. From the beginning of his career, Dr. Uliasz has been committed to giving back. He and his teams have participated in numerous charitable dentistry events in the past.

In keeping with this vision of dental practices that give back, Dr. Uliasz established Smiles for the Community so the teams from his dental group, Blue Sea Dental, along with volunteers from the community, could come together to hold Free Dental Care Days for those with no access to dental care. The Blue Sea Dental family of practices includes Lee Dental Care (Fort Myers), Community Dental Care (North Fort Myers), Smile Cape Coral, Elite Dental Care (Naples), Punta Gorda Dental Care, Estero Bay Dental, Smiles of Winter Haven, and Sunset Harbor Dental (opening in Cape Coral, November 2023).

Untreated tooth decay, abscesses, and gum disease can lead to serious health conditions. We understand that many adults do not have access to dental care. Smiles for the Community makes dental care more accessible to our community by offering the choice of one of three services free of charge at our Free Dental Care Day events. Free Dental Care Day events are judgment-free zones, where all are welcome, and the only questions asked are health-related to ensure patient safety.

Smiles for the Community (Tax ID 92-0238882) is a registered non-profit organization. For more information visit smilesforthecommunity.org.
