1. Road Work/Maintenance/Improvement

Summerlin Road & Bass Road ROW 2023-00219: BCU & PMI Will be installing storm drains and pipes, sidewalks, and riprap on swell slope. Work will begin on March 15, 2023 through May 31, 2023. This work will be on the north side of Summerlin just west of Bass Rd. There will be no lane closures needed. All work will be done in the green area of the ROW. Traffic flow shall remain normal. US 41/Cleveland Avenue from Winkler Avenue to SR 82/Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Construction project: Crews will be installing and relocating utilities and constructing medians on US 41/Cleveland Avenue from Winkler Avenue to SR 82.

• Starting the night of Friday, June 2, U.S. 41 (Cleveland Ave) south of Downtown Fort Myers will be closed and will continue through Saturday, June 3. The following detour will be in place:

Motorists traveling Northbound U.S. 41:

• Turn right onto Victoria Avenue

• Turn left onto Broadway and continue onto Monroe Street

• Turn left onto Main Street

• Use onramp to merge onto U.S. 41 (Caloosahatchee Bridge)

Motorists traveling Southbound U.S. 41:

• Turn right onto McGregor Boulevard

• Turn left onto Victoria Avenue

• Turn right onto Southbound U.S. 41

• Expect Edison Avenue closed on the east side of US 41 / Cleveland Avenue.

• Expect Crawford Street closed on the east side of US 41 / Cleveland Avenue.

• Motorists should expect side road closures from Winkler Avenue to Victoria Avenue throughout the duration of the project.

• Motorists should expect intermittent northbound and southbound lane closures and detours on US 41/Cleveland Avenue during daytime and nighttime/overnight hours Monday through Friday throughout the duration of the project.

Additional work includes installing drainage structures, pedestrian signals, upgrading signals and lighting, and resurfacing existing highway. The project will be constructed in three segments. Each segment will have most of the construction completed prior to moving to the next segment. Crews will work on the west side of the road initially and when that work is completed, they will shift to the east side of Cleveland Avenue/US 41. The expected project completion is late 2023.

Burnt Store Road from Tropicana Parkway to Pine Island Road: Motorists should expect temporary southbound traffic diversions from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. This project consists of widening Burnt Store Road to four lanes. The project also includes construction of a new bridge over Shadroe Canal, drainage installation, and lighting. Motorists should expect intermittent Northbound and Southbound Lane closures during nighttime/overnight hours, weather permitting. Motorists should use caution while driving in the area. This south segment from Tropicana Parkway to Pine Island Road costs $13.6 million. The contractor is Wright Construction. The project is expected to be completed by spring 2023. Crystal Drive (Plantation Road to US 41) Water Main Improvements (ROW 2022-00020): Beginning April 4, 2022, contractors for Lee County will install new water main beginning on the west side of Planation Road just south of the roundabout with Crystal Drive. Then install the water main on the south side of Crystal Drive from Plantation Road to US 41 to tie into a connection point on the east side of US 41 just south of Crystal Drive. Crews will also install water main from a connection point on the east side of US 41 near 12499 Cleveland Avenue (PDQ). Then continue east to Austin Street and west under US 41 to the north side of Brantley Road and tie into a connection point between Pine Grove and Brantley Pines driveways. Crews are expected to work 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This project is expected to be completed in summer 2023. Drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists should use caution and be aware of construction equipment and vehicles entering/exiting streets in the project area.

Sidewalk and Driveway closure along Crystal Drive between 12255 S Cleveland Ave and 2378 Crystal Drive: Beginning 7:00 am through 5:00 pm, Monday, May 29, 2023 through Saturday, June 3, 2023, crews will close sidewalks and driveways for water main crossing.

Sidewalk closure along Crystal Drive between 12270 Metro Parkway and 12290 Crystal Commerce Loop: Beginning 7:00 am through 5:00 pm, Monday, May 29, 2023 through Saturday, June 3, 2023, crews will close sidewalks and driveways for water main crossing.

Sidewalk closure along Brantley Road between Brantley Pines and Cleveland Avenue: Beginning 7 a.m. through 5 p.m. Monday May 29 through Saturday June 3, 2023, crews will close sidewalks for water main crossing.

This schedule may be subject to change due to inclement weather and unforeseen underground conditions. Corkscrew Road Widening Project – Phase I Construction Project: The project widens Corkscrew Road to six lanes from Ben Hill Griffin Parkway to Fire House Lane, and to four lanes from Fire House Lane to Bella Terra Boulevard. The project includes adding on-road bike lanes, some sidewalk, installing new drainage, and constructing a wildlife crossing approximately 1000 feet west of the entrance to Cypress Shadows Boulevard. This crossing will coincide with a regional flow-way that crosses Corkscrew Road at that location. The Village of Estero will be installing shared use paths, lighting, and landscaping as phasing allows. Drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists are urged to use extra caution when traveling through the work zone. Please be aware of shifts in travel lanes and bike lanes, sidewalk detours, miscellaneous turn lane closures, and uneven pavement throughout the project.

Please use caution and drive with courtesy and patience throughout the project area. Residents are entering and exiting communities on both sides of Corkscrew Road.

FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY, PLEASE STAY OUT OF THE ACTIVE WORK ZONE.

• The contractor continues work outside of the travel lanes. This work includes installing drainage, performing concrete work and earthwork, clearing & grubbing, and prepping for sod. Motorists should expect construction vehicles and concrete trucks entering and exiting the roadway.

• Crews continue work on the box culvert near the wildlife crossing. This week crews will be driving production piles for the north side of the wildlife crossing/bridge. This work will of be outside of the travel lanes.

• Pedestrians should expect the sidewalk on the south side of the road closed from Ben Hill Griffin Parkway to Stoneybrook Golf Drive while the Village of Estero constructs the shared use path.

• Left turn lanes from Corkscrew Road are unavailable into Wild Blue Boulevard, Cypress Shadows Boulevard (The Preserve at Corkscrew), Midnight Blue Boulevard, and Bella Terra Boulevard. Left turns are still permitted, however they will be made from the travel lane. Where possible, barrels and other devices have been shifted to allow for as much room as possible for vehicles.

The work activities above are scheduled to occur, however unforeseen underground conditions and weather may affect this schedule.

WORK PERFORMED BY OTHERS:

• GL Homes is actively working in their development site across from Wild Blue Boulevard. Motorists should expect delays and use caution as construction vehicles enter/exit the roadway. On heavy haul days, GL Homes will be providing flaggers to reduce backups on Corkscrew Road.

• The Village of Estero is constructing the shared use path on the south side of the road from Ben Hill Griffin Parkway to Stoneybrook Golf Drive. The Village is currently designing the path to extend to the east property line of Bella Terra and on the north side of the road to east of Grandezza.

MOTORISTS ARE REMINDED TO OBEY THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT. Please use caution and watch for workers and construction vehicles entering and leaving the roadway. Estimated completion is late 2023. Sanibel Causeway Emergency Restoration: As a part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Emergency Restoration of the Sanibel Causeway, crews continue work on McGregor Boulevard and the Sanibel Causeway from Port Comfort Road to Sanibel Island. The causeway islands surrounding the temporary roadway are an active work zone and are currently closed for public access.

• RESCHEDULED WORK: During the nighttime/overnight hours of 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM on Tuesday, May 30 and Wednesday, May 31, motorists should expect a mobile operation with lane closures from the toll plaza to Port Comfort Road. One lane will remain open in each direction during this overnight work.

• As work progresses, motorists should expect isolated flagging operations on the Causeway during the nighttime/overnight hours of 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

• Motorists should expect periodic daytime delays for crews to remove trash from the roadway.

• Crews continue driving sheet pile around the causeway islands and near the toll booth area.

• Crews continue earthwork on the causeway islands.

Many oversized vehicles are crossing the causeway to assist with recovery efforts on the island. Please be patient as travel may be slower than usual. Bicyclists are encouraged to utilize another mode of transportation to travel the causeway and pedestrians are not permitted on the Sanibel Causeway. Expect shoulder closures throughout the project. Imperial Shores Blvd.- Bonita Springs (ROW 2022-00816): Starting July 26, 2022, Andrew Sitework LLC. Will be performing construction on Imperial Shores Blvd from Bonita Beach Road to Tarpon Avenue. Work currently being performed consists of drainage installation and adjustments, pouring new concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons, installing curb & gutter, roadway rebuilding and resurfacing, grading and grassing swales within the ROW and installing new street signage. Beginning 7:00 AM, Wednesday May 24, 2023 through 4:00 PM, Friday May 25, 2023, Imperial Shores Blvd will be reduced to one way traffic “Southbound only” between Tarpon Avenue and Bonita Beach Road. A detour will be provided for northbound traffic using Imperial River Road from Bonita Beach Road to Tarpon Avenue. Motorists are required to follow all traffic control devises and/or direction of on-site Flaggers. Motorists are advised to use caution for their safety and safety of the workers. Bonita Beach Road SW between Meadowlark Lane and Windsor Road – Bonita Springs, FL (ROW2022-00329): Bradanna, Inc. will be performing roadway and sidewalk improvements beginning Monday, May 8, 2023, and continuing through Friday, June 9, 2023. Asphalt pavement, concrete sidewalk, concrete curbing, and drainage improvements will be performed. The outside (right) lane of Eastbound traffic on Bonita Beach Road SW between Meadowlark Lane and Windsor Road will be subject to lane closures. Periodic lane closures for eastbound lanes will occur between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM on weekdays. Bonita Beach Road West of US 41 TO Kings Kew Road Bonita Springs – Fort Myers (B220294DWJ – Countywide Sidewalk Repair Project): Scott Commercial Contracting LLC will be performing sidewalk repair improvements beginning Monday, May 1, 2023, and continue through December 31, 2023 (except for on holidays). Removal of and repair of damaged concrete sidewalk will be performed under county contract B220294DWJ on both the north and south sides of Bonita Beach Road West of US 41 to Kings Kew Road in Bonita Springs as directed by Lee County personnel. The outside (right) lane of westbound traffic on Bonita Beach Road just after US 41 will be the first area subject to lane closures utilizing FDOT indexes 102-615 & 102-613. Also, the sidewalk north of Bonita Beach Road will be closed and detoured as needed as outline in FDOT Index FDOT 102-660. Periodic lane closures for westbound and eastbound lanes of Bonita Beach Road will occur between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM on weekdays. 2499 Lee Boulevard at the LCEC Substation ending at 1110 Lee Boulevard just before Williams Road along with sections of sidewalk in our work zone (ROW2022-00733): One of LCEC’s contractors Mas Tec will be changing out concrete poles and reconductoring a primary double circuit feeder running down Lee Boulevard beginning Thursday June 1, 2023 and ending around August 31, 2023. We will be intermittently blocking the westbound north lane of travel between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM for approximately 3 months in various locations. Along with sections of sidewalk. Work will begin on April 14, 2023, and completed by May 31, 2023. The boring will take place in the evening from 9:00 PM- 6:00 AM and once the bore in cable pulling during the daytime 9:00 AM- 3:30 PM. Work will begin on April 14, 2023, and completed by May 31, 2023. The boring will take place in the evening from 9:00PM- 6:00 AM and once the bore in cable pulling during the daytime 9:00 AM- 3:30 PM. Leonard Boulevard S from Lee Boulevard to Hampstead Court (Permit ROW2022-00958): Pike Electric will be working on the overhead power lines. The projected start date is April 17, 2023. The said section of road will be subject to a lane closures of the Southeast bound right lane between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM. The projected end date is July 14, 2023. College Parkway between Winkler Road and Southpoint Boulevard (ROW2022-01348): Essian Construction LCC will be performing sidewalk and roadway improvements from June 5, 2023, through August 7, 2023. Asphalt pavement, concrete sidewalk, concrete curbing, and drainage improvements will be performed. The right lane heading westbound on College Parkway, and possibly the middle lane, for short periods of time to tap the water service will be subject to lane closures. The lane closures will be between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM on weekdays. Back Bay Construction will be providing maintenance of traffic services. Gateway Boulevard at Griffin Drive/Fairway Lakes Drive: Lee County is constructing a roundabout at Gateway Boulevard and Griffin Drive/Fairway Lakes Drive. This week, work includes clearing vegetation on Gateway Boulevard and Griffin Drive. Motorists should expect traffic shifts and lanes closures through the duration of the project. Motorists should expect the following conditions at the intersection of Gateway Boulevard and Griffin Drive/Fairway Lakes Drive:

• Gateway Boulevard will be reconfigured to have one northbound and one southbound lane in each direction and lanes will be shifted to the center of the intersection.

• There will be no left turn or through lane movements from Griffin Drive. Griffin Drive will be right turn only. Motorists who want to travel southbound on Gateway Boulevard from Griffin Drive, will need to turn right heading northbound and U-turn to head southbound.

• There will be no left turn from Gateway Boulevard to Griffin Drive. Motorists who want to travel eastbound on Griffin Drive, will need to travel southbound through the intersection and make a U-turn at Timber Ridge Drive.

• Fairway Lakes Drive will be closed at the intersection.

• The posted speed limit has been reduced to 25MPH through the work zone. The existing posted speed limit of 35MPH will remain the same outside of the work zone.

Expect large construction vehicles in the area and watch for contractors in the field. The contractors will use Variable Message Boards (VMB) to notify the public about any traffic pattern changes during construction. The contractor is Wright Construction Group. The project is expected to be complete in one year. Work began April 17, 2023, and is estimated to be completed Spring of 2024. Work is expected to occur Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM; however, some night and weekend work may be necessary. Colonial Boulevard on ramp, from Cleveland Avenue to Hill Drive (ROW2022-01033): Pike Electric will be working on the overhead power lines. The projected start date is May 1, 2023. The said section of road will be subject to a lane shift from 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM. The projected end date is June 15, 2023. Area Wide Protective will be providing MOT services. Pavement Maintenance, LLC will be resurfacing Oriole Road from Alico Road to Pittsburg Boulevard. Work is scheduled to take place starting May 15, 2023 through May 29, 2023. This will be a flagging operation and motorists should expect delays and intermittent stops. Please use caution in the work area. Work times are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Sanibel Toll Facility off Island Eastbound ongoing maintenance work Beginning Monday, May 15, 2023, and continue through June 15, 2023 (except for on holidays). The outside lane of eastbound traffic coming off Sanibel Island will experience periodic lane shifts for ongoing needed building and lane repairs. Old Bayshore Road: Lee County Department of Transportation will be doing roadwork on Old Bayshore Road from Rabun Gap Road to Bayshore Road. The repairs will be on the edge of the road on old Bayshore Road. We will have MOT set up for the duration of this project. The road will be shut down during the day from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Hancock Bridge Parkway from 800′ West of Moody Road: Lee County DOT will be performing irrigation repairs to the center median. The projected work dates are May 23, 2023 to May 26, 2023 between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Motorists should expect lane closures for the duration of the project. Carter Avenue N at Sunset Road – Lehigh Acres (ROW2023-00435): Irby Construction Company will be installing two (2) new wooden poles and new aluminum overhead wire along the eastside of Carter Avenue N to provide electric service to 1902 and 1903 Carter Avenue N. Carter Avenue N could be subject to lane closure in the northbound lane. This work is to begin at 9:00 AM on June 1, 2023, and will be completed by 4:00 PM same day. Lee Road from Caloosa Road south to just south of Cypress Drive N, Fort Myers (ROW2023-00159): Next Level drilling will be preforming directional drill to install underground power in the ROW of Lee Ro beginning June 6, 2023, and continuing through June 14, 2023. The north and south bound lanes of Lee Road from Caloosa Road south to approximately 200 ft south of Cypress Road N. will be subject to periodic lane closures. Lee County Department of Transportation along with Ajax Paving Industries of FL (contractor) will be milling and resurfacing 2 +/- miles of N. River Road in North Fort Myers from Terrell Drive to Brenfield Lane. Starting June 7, 2023, there will be intermittent lane closures with traffic pattern changes. Please pay attention to all signage and flaggers. Please note the work hours will be from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday through Friday. Work shall be completed by July 7, 2023. Lee Road from Sanibel Boulevard south to San Carlos Boulevard also Sanibel Boulevard from Zinnia Road to Lee Road, Fort Myers (ROW2023-00121): Desoto Drilling will be preforming directional drilling to install underground power in the ROW of Lee Road beginning June 15, 2023, and continuing through June 21, 2023. The north and south bound lanes of Lee Road from Sanibel Boulevard south to approximately 300 ft North of San Carlos Boulevard will be subject to periodic lane closures. Also, Sanibel Boulevard from Zinnia Road to Lee Road will be subject to periodic lane closures. Lane closures will occur between the hours of 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM on weekdays. 2. Bridge Maintenance

Lee County Operations will be making repairs to the medium at Cape Coral Tolls. Weather permitting, repairs are scheduled to start on May 22, 2023 and end on May 25, 2023. Westbound single-lane closure from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. If any questions, please contact Carlos Hernandez (239) 533-9400

Lee County Operations will perform bridge deck maintenance on Burnt Store Road over the Shadroe Canal, between Ember Parkway and Ceitus Parkway. Weather permitting, repairs are scheduled to start on May 29, 2023, and end on June 8, 2023. Southbound single-lane closure from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. New Pass Bridge: Lee County DOT and its contractor Villa-Fuerte Construction will perform maintenance activities on the New Pass Bridge. This project includes deck repairs and sidewalk crack repairs. During the project duration, sporadic lane closures will be necessary. Therefore, motorists and pedestrians are urged to use extra caution in this area. The activities will begin on June 5, 2023, and are estimated to be completed by September 3, 2023. 3. Street Lighting Maintenance

Alico Road Lighting and Landscaping – Fort Myers (Lee County #9269): Bentley Lighting and P&T landscaping crews will be on site throughout the project along Alico Road from Ben Hill Griffin Parkway to just east of ITEC, beginning July 26, 2022, until Saturday, June 3, 2023. Crews will be working Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Crews will be installing light poles along the north and south side the road as well as landscaping and irrigation improvements in the median. Lane closures are not anticipated at this time, but motorists should expect construction vehicles and minor traffic disruptions while construction activities are being performed. 4. Landscaping – Tree Trimming

Captiva Drive: Lee County DOT will be trimming trees on Captiva Drive from Blind Pass into the downtown area. Lane closures may occur, and motorists should use caution as workers, flagmen and equipment will be present. County wide stump removal: Lee County DOT will be performing stump removal operations on roadways including but not exclusively Gunnery Road, Daniels Parkway, Cypress Lake Drive, Summerlin Road, US 41, Gladiolus Drive, and others. Work will begin on April 17, 2023, and be continuous until completed. Lane closures may occur between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and motorists should use caution as workers, flagmen and equipment will be present.
