Tre Boston football camp on June 25

Limited number of spots left

By CHUCK BALLARO - | Jun 14, 2022

After spending the last two years on the sidelines due to COVID, one of Lee County’s biggest football camps is back.

Former North Fort Myers High School football great Tre Boston will host the third annual Tre Boston Beyond Belief Foundation Football Camp on Saturday, June 25, at Evangelical Christian School, 8237 Beacon Blvd., in Fort Myers.

The camp to run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. is free and open to youths from 8 to 17 years old. Participants will be provided with a camp T-shirt, swag bag, sports towel, a LeeHealth – SafeKids water bottle and other giveaways. There also will be a live DJ, food trucks and free food for campers.

Boston said with COVID still around, they are taking precautions. Still, he is happy to be holding the camp again.

“It means the world to be able to hold the camp and give this opportunity to the kids and community. One of our top camps performers for 2019 is now a University of Miami athlete. So, we can’t wait to provide this opportunity to many more,” Boston said in an e-mail.

This is a family event – a bounce house will be provided for younger kids and a food truck will be onsite. They also will have prevention programs to provide safety awareness to family and participants.

After holding the camp at North the first few years, they moved it to Evangelical Christian this year.

“It’s centrally located, and Mack Mitchell was my defensive backs coach in high school. So, after doing the D1 Combine there – we felt it was a good location to have the camp there this year,” Boston said.

Online registration is encouraged as limited spots are available and can be made on Eventbrite and TBBBF.org. Check-in will be from 9 to 10 a.m.

Potential campers had better act soon. More than 300 kids have signed up, with only 45 more slots remaining as of Monday.

Tre Boston Beyond Belief Foundation works in partnership with local law enforcement youth, prevention initiative, at-risk, detentions centers, alternative schools, and community programs to provide education, awareness, and services to support those that are directly or indirectly impacted by generational cycles.
