Next month’s roster of activities at Cape Coral Lee County Public Library offers topics for all ages. The following activities are free to the public:

Adult Programs

Bring Your Own Book

11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1

Join us for a stimulating book discussion on your favorite book or any recent book you have read. Bring along your books and get recommendations for new titles.

English Café

10 a.m., Fridays, Dec. 3, 10, 17

6 p.m., Tuesdays, Dec. 7, 14

Free and informal conversation sessions for adult ESOL/ESL students.

Holiday Movie

1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4

A Pumpkin King gets bored and kidnaps Santa after he learns of the wonder of Christmas. Rated PG.

11 a.m., Tuesdays, Dec. 7, 21

Receive personalized help downloading e-books, movies, music and more from Overdrive and Hoopla, two of Lee County Library System’s largest online content providers. Bring your fully charged digital device for this hands-on help session. Note: Please bring any passwords you may need for downloading apps. Kindle users will also need an Amazon account and their password for accessing it.

Holiday Crafts: Cardmaking

& Ornaments

11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 9

Join us for a fun filled morning of DIY holiday ornaments and card making. Choose from a variety of holiday themes and characters to create a one-of-a-kind ornament and card. Registration is required.

Children’s Programs

Toddler Tales

10 & 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1

For ages 18 – 36 months and caregivers. Toddlers and caregivers move and groove during this interactive storytime. Space is limited to 15. First come, first served.

Holiday Craft Fun

4 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1

Enjoy seasonal music while making a special holiday card. For ages 5-11. All supplies provided. Space is limited to 20. Registration is guaranteed only until the start of the program. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Public Library.

Baby Rhyme Time

10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 2

For babies up to 18 months. Babies and caregivers wiggle and giggle in a supportive environment. Space is limited to 15. First come, first served.

Family Storytime

10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 4

For children through age 5 and caregivers. Families with young children enjoy a variety of stories, songs, rhymes and movement. Space is limited to 15. First come, first served.

Pete the Cat Storytime

10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8

This special storytime is all about Pete the Cat with books, songs, rhymes and more. For children through age 5. Space is limited to 15. First come, first served.

All-Abilities Kids Storytime

10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 17

For ages 3-12 and caregivers. This storytime emphasizes books, music and sensory experiences designed for children with adaptive needs and their families. Using visual schedule boards, stories are told through multiple modalities. This creates a positive storytime experience in a quieter environment with reduced sensory stimuli. Class size is limited to 10 children, plus their parents or caregivers.

Kids Read Down Fines

1-2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4

Children and teens can earn a $2 credit on overdue fines for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $8 in one session. Please bring your library card.

Anime Club

4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7

For teens and tweens interested in anime, manga and Japanese culture. Watch anime with friends and make themed crafts. For ages 11-18. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Public Library.
