Silk scarf painting class offered at Edison and Ford Winter Estates

Edison and Ford Winter Estates is offering a silk scarf painting class on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. Marie Dyer, a local artist teaches this class and other painting classes at the estates. Participants will paint a 14-inch x 72-inch silk scarf that can be worn or hung as a piece of artwork.

To ensure adequate supplies, registration is required at least 24 hours in advance. The class will take place outdoors in the river pavilion, along the Caloosahatchee River. Masks are recommended, but not required.

Register online at edisonford.org or call 239-334-7419. E-tickets should be redeemed at the ticket counter for a wristband (on the day of the class). The cost is Edison Ford members: $90; non-members: $100. All materials are included in the fee.

Edison and Ford Winter Estates is the internationally known winter home site of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford on McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers. The property is an official project of “Save America’s Treasures,” a Florida Historic Landmark and a National Register Historic Site. The Edison Botanic Laboratory is a National Historic Chemical Landmark. The site is open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and until 9 p.m. during the month of December for Holiday Nights.
