21st Century C.A.R.E., the independent charitable foundation of the integrated cancer provider 21st Century Oncology, is hosting its 7th Annual “Race Against Head and Neck Cancer” 5K Run/2-Mile Walk Saturday, April 27. The race will start at 8 a.m. at Century Link Sports Complex at Hammond Stadium, 14100 Six Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers.

All of the funds raised will be used locally to provide financial assistance to head and neck cancer patients in need, as well as to conduct head and neck cancer screenings throughout Southwest Florida.

“Every year, there are more than 50,000 new cases of head and neck cancer diagnosed in the U.S. However, given the proper resources, head and neck cancer is preventable and treatable,” said Kathy Tolentino, director of 21st Century C.A.R.E. “This is a fun and meaningful event that a lot of people in the community graciously support, and the funds raised really go a long way in protecting and treating a lot of people in southern Florida.”

Registration is $30 for adults and $20 for youth. Children under the age of five can participate in the event for free. The first 100 people to register will receive a complimentary race t-shirt and gift bag. Refreshments will be provided.

Participants can also enjoy awards and chance drawings after the race.
