Foods to Grow in Summer seminar

Learn the edible plants you can grow in Southwest Florida’s hot and humid summers. Options home gardeners have for killing root knot nematodes in soil when the summer sun is at its hottest also will be discussed. Speaker, Karen Harty, is executive director of the not-for-profit Grow A Gardener Inc., Lee County Master Gardener, 4-H Leader of the VegHeads, and avid edible gardener that eats from her garden all year long.

Class will be held on Saturday, May 14, from 1-3 p.m. at Rotary Park in Cape Coral. Class fee is $17 and registration is required. Plants, seeds and solarization film will be offered for sale after the presentation. Contact venue directly at 239.549.4606 to register.
