KindLee plans ‘Sip #KindLee’ event June 15

Learn about upcoming plans for the nonprofit that supports children by encouraging them to support their community

By Staff | Jun 5, 2023

An evening of wine tasting and food pairing is planned Thursday, June 15 by KindLee, a nonprofit that focuses on acts of kindness to support children who may be struggling. The event is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at FineMark Bank, 8695 College Parkway, Suite 100, Fort Myers.

Tickets are not required for the event, but donations to KindLee are encouraged.

In addition to food, wine and networking, the event will include announcements of a new board member and scholarship winner. The event chairperson is Michelle Burks, a Fort Myers native and real estate professional, who is also a board member of the Edison Festival of Light.

KindLee President Kelly Fayer said donations help the nonprofit expand its program of creating service projects and celebrating their success to help children facing challenges such as trauma, abuse, loss and financial hardship.

“We help children create a community service project to help someone else,” said Fayer. “Being able to help others reminds these children that they are special and valuable. Community support allows us to be able to spread this kindness to so many people in the community.”

For information, or to RSVP for the event, call Jennifer Nelson at 239-826-0556.

About KindLee

KindLee was inspired by a local family, who asked family and friends to perform random acts of kindness in honor of their infant son, who passed away. Since it started in 2016, KindLee has helped raise funds for pediatric mental health, children’s grief support and substance abuse treatment as well as conducted drives for food, Thanksgiving turkeys, shoes and toiletries for those in need.
