Miracles benefitting Golisano Children’s Hospital happen every time you shop at Costco in May: 10 days left to make a difference
There are 10 days left to help kids like 11-year-old Jaxson Warren through the Miracles Campaign at Costco.
Diagnosed with B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in the summer of 2020, Jaxson began chemotherapy at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. He finished six months later. Jaxson smiled from ear-to-ear as he rang the ceremonial end-of-chemo bell to symbolize that he was done with chemo and only required check-ups. Children are given a bell to decorate when they start chemo, so they can look forward to ringing it on their last day of treatment. Jaxson decorated his in honor of his favorite sports team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Halfway through the campaign, which began May 1, Costco stores in Southwest Florida have raised more than $115,000 for Golisano Children’s Hospital through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. As a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partner, Golisano Children’s Hospital receives support from its affiliated fundraising campaigns, like the Costco Miracles Campaign.
Through the month of May, Costco invites every shopper to make a simple donation at the register. All funds raised stay local to benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital, and every dollar collected helps provide lifesaving care to sick and injured children, like Jaxson, in the six-county area of Southwest Florida.
There are still 10 days left for you to take action and help a child. Last year the money raised had a major impact.
“A new ambulance was purchased last year after raising $300,000 at our local Costco’s,” said Toni Primeaux, director of development for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through the Lee Health Foundation. “This new ambulance already has over 14,000 miles on it and is going strong to help sick and injured kids in our community. Our six-county region is so generous, always stepping up to support Golisano Children’s Hospital. It is not too late to come out to Costco and donate. Every dollar makes a difference.”
Costco employees participate with many unique fundraising competitions and the company matches a portion of every donation.
In 2022, $1,080,300 was raised by local SWFL Children’s Miracle Network partners.
