Sam Galloway, Jr. & Friends Soup Kitchen Benefit raises more than $1 million

By Staff | Mar 17, 2023

The 20th Annual Sam Galloway, Jr. & Friends Soup Kitchen Benefit raised more than $1 million to support our mission of eliminating hunger and homelessness in Southwest Florida.

“We strive to support and strengthen those whose lives have been affected by hunger and homelessness, ensuring that they have access to the resources necessary to transform their lives with dignity,” said Stefanie Edwards, CEO of Community Cooperative. “Sam’s Community Café & Markets, Mobile Food Pantries, and Meals on Wheels programs ensure that families and homebound seniors in need have access to nutritious food while our Social & Education Resource Centers provide long-term sustainable solutions for change. After the impacts of Hurricane Ian, we have been helping more people than ever.”

More than 700 guests enjoyed a southern-style dinner and cocktails donated by nearly 20 local restaurants and businesses.

Despite the funds raised at the event, Community Cooperative continues to need donations to meet the growing needs of the community.
