Road Work/Maintenance/Improvement

Burnt Store Road from Tropicana Parkway to Pine Island Road: Beginning on Monday, Dec. 12, motorists should expect temporary southbound traffic diversions from 9 p.m. to midnight to allow crews to finalize coring work. This project consists of widening Burnt Store Road to four lanes. The project also includes construction of a new bridge over Shadroe Canal, drainage installation, and lighting. Motorists should expect intermittent Northbound and Southbound lane closures during nighttime/overnight hours, weather permitting. Motorists should use caution while driving in the area. This south segment from Tropicana Parkway to Pine Island Road costs $13.6 million. The contractor is Wright Construction. The project is expected to be completed by early 2023. North Lee County Wellfield Expansion Phase IIIA Project – Fort Myers (ROW2022-00030)

Nalle Grade Road between Slater Road to Nalle Road – RPU will be continuing with the installation of the Raw Water Main and Fiber Optics Conduit via directional drill from Jan. 9 through March 30. Directional Drill will be performed along Nalle Road from Nalle Grad Road heading south towards Sedgefield Road. Southbound lane along Nalle Road will be subject to temporary daily lane closures. Traffic will be maintained with flagmen. Working hours shall be from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Countywide Resurfacing Pavement Maintenance, LLC will be resurfacing various roads in Lee County. Please use caution in work area. PMI is scheduled to pave Jan. 3 through Jan. 20. Work times are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For further information, call PMI at 239-344-6760.

Lehigh Acres Resurfacing FY22A: Lee County DOT, along with their contractor Community Asphalt will be milling and paving on various roads in Lehigh Acres. Shoulder work and minor striping to continue starting Tuesday, Jan. 3 and will tentatively go through Friday, Jan. 20. Work times will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should use caution, as there will be lane closures and uneven pavement in this area. Please be aware of the advanced warning signs in these areas. College Parkway from Cape Coral Bridge to College Pointe Court and CR 867 from Camelot Drive to W. College Pointe Drive: Tierra, Inc. will be obtaining asphalt pavement cores from the travel lanes of College Pkwy and CR 867 from Monday, Jan. 9 to Thursday, Jan. 12. Motorists should use caution, as there will be lane closures in the work zone from approximately 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on the specified dates. Bridge Maintenance

Neighborhood CIPP Project Matlacha – Lee County DOT and their contractor Hinterland Group will begin pipe lining activities on Island Avenue and adjacent roads in that neighborhood and Sapodilla Lane in Saint James Jan. 9. During the work processes, men and equipment may be in the roadway. Therefore, motorists and pedestrians are urged to use extra caution. Hancock Bridge Parkway CIPP Project, Cape Coral – Lee County DOT and their contractor Shenandoah General Construction will begin pipelining activities on Hancock Bridge Parkway Jan. 3.

Lane closures will be limited to between the hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Therefore, motorists and pedestrians are urged to use extra caution in the area.
