Cape Coral Storage facility focuses on environment and safe streets
Skyline Self Storage was built in an area surrounded by houses. Local developer John Ringland wanted to build an environmentally friendly project that added value to the neighborhood and made it safer for pedestrians. Knowing local school children traveled past the facility en route to the bus stop, he widened the road to accommodate a bike lane and installed windy sidewalks.
“The kids just love it,” said John Ringland of Ringland Development Corporation. “Everyday we see them riding bikes, roller skating, or walking up and down those sidewalks. It also feels good to see the groups of school children safely walking to and from the bus.”
The facility was also designed to be covered with trees, friendly to the burrowing owls and powered by the sun. Over 1,800 native shrubs and trees surround the facility with the goal of providing the neighborhood with a commercial development dominated by trees, opposed to obtrusive buildings. He also added 13 starter burrows for the local burrowing owls.
Skyline Self Storage has also minimized its impact on the environment by installing 200 solar panels, which fully powers the facility.
Skyline Self Storage is located at 824 S.W. 42nd Terrace in Cape Coral.
