Quigley Eye Specialists, a Southwest Florida leader in the diagnosis and treatment of vision disorders, has opened a new 10,000-square-foot ,state-of-the-art facility in Cape Coral.

The one-story structure is located at 112 Del Prado Blvd., North, and replaces the previous Cape Coral location on Country Club Boulevard.

The phone number remains the same, 239-466-2020.

“Our new Cape Coral location provides the space we need to comfortably accommodate the growth in patients and physicians, as well as introduce new advanced technology and equipment that will benefit our patients,” said Mark Quigley, chief executive officer.

Among those new technological advances is the Epic 6100 system, a computerized workstation that determines the best corrective lenses for the sharpest, clearest vision. This smart and intuitive workstation allows the physicians to have the latest data assessment and diagnosis and prescribe a final correction.

“This is a huge benefit for patients. Instead of asking a patient to determine which lens enables them to see best — number one or number two, this device will show both options side by side at the same time,” said Quigley Eye Specialists ophthalmologist Dr. Mark Liebetreu.

The Epic 6100 also eliminates the need for patients to move to different rooms for the entire examination process, which can be fatiguing for older patients.

“Everything is done at one workstation, which also reduces the time a patient spends in the office by as much as 15 to 20 minutes,” Dr. Liebetreu said. “This streamlines the entire examination process and will increase patient satisfaction. The efficiency also helps tremendously with social distancing.”

The new Cape Coral office has 18 exam rooms with room for three additional eye surgeons. Parking is also plentiful with 71 spaces.

The technology introduced at the Cape Coral office also will be implemented in other Quigley Eye Specialists offices, according to Michael Huston, the practice administrator.

The general contractor on the job was Ringland Construction.

The building was designed by Albert Dambrose of Studio AD Architect in Fort Myers.

Quigley Eye Specialists, founded in 1988, consists of more 70 medical professionals, including surgeons, optometrists, retina specialists and technicians, specializing in cataracts, laser cataract surgery, glaucoma, LASIK, dry eye, eyelid surgery, retinal issues, corneal conditions and routine eye care.
