Lee County Community Development May 2017 Permit Report

During May, contractors pulled 126 permits to build single-family houses collectively valued at about $22 million in unincorporated Lee County. That compares to 96 permits issued in April 2017 and 98 issued in May 2016, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.

Also during May, 157 multi-family units valued at about $21.8 million were permitted, compared to 12 units in April 2017 and 26 units in May 2016.

General commercial activity was valued at about $8.5 million for 17 permits, compared to about $20.7 million in April 2017 and about $2.1 million in May 2016.

Lee County Community Development issued 4,536 permits of all kinds in May.

Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection, and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.

Jenkins launches Frank R. Jenkins Custom Homes

After 26 years working in the custom home building industry as a partner with another firm, licensed general contractor Frank Jenkins has launched his own company in Southwest Florida, Frank R Jenkins Custom Homes, and a subsidiary, Frank R Jenkins Realty.

In his new venture, Jenkins will oversee sales, construction supervision and management of custom home construction throughout Southwest Florida including Fort Myers, Bonita Springs and Naples.

Holmberg, Antoncic, Leatham

join Creighton Commercial Development and Construction

Creighton Commercial Development and Construction has announced that three new members have joined its Florida team. New hires include Richard Holmberg as superintendent, Peter Antoncic as bid coordinator and Richard Leatham as land development manager.

From Dawsonville, Georgia, Holmberg brings more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry to the Creighton team. Through his role as superintendent, Holmberg will be responsible for overseeing projects throughout Florida.

A New York-native turned Cape Coral resident, Antoncic brings more than a decade of experience to his position as a bid coordinator. Prior to joining the Creighton team, Antoncic served as a lead estimator for Southern Gulf Construction for four years, with an additional 10 years in the field.

Originally from Newville, Pennsylvania, Leatham brings more than 10 years of experience in land development and acquisition. Before making the move to Creighton, Leatham served as land manager for S&A Homes of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, overseeing all land development activities in south central regions of the state.

Holmberg, Antoncic and Leatham will join the Creighton team in providing commercial development and construction services to its clients.

GATES Construction completes clubhouse addition & renovation project

GATES Construction has completed construction at Heritage Palms Golf and Country Club, one of Southwest Florida’s finest member-owned private country clubs.
