Clear Channel realigns formats to add Z100
Clear Channel Radio of Ft. Myers announces a brand new station, “Z100,” which plays an upbeat selection of songs that simply make you “feel good!” officials there said Monday.
Effective 6 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, WZJZ will serve the Southwest Florida Market a myriad of high energy, familiar rhythmic favorites with very limited commercial interruptions, allowing for 100 songs in a row each day.
Z100 is a breakthrough in Southwest Florida sound, playing up-tempo songs that people
will recognize, stations officials said. Z100 fills a Southwest Florida radio gap by allowing an “at work” station that drives listeners to “nod their head and dance all while keeping a mainstream sound perfect for work,” said Program Director, Scrap Jackson, in a prepared statement.
“The radio landscape for at-work listening is currently bland and tired,” he said. “Finally, we have a radio station that is up tempo and makes you feel good. And work day friendly, too!”
Bringing a fresh, up tempo new blend of music vibe to the market has been a mission for General
Manager Sherri Griswold (Carlson).
“Clear Channel is pleased to be able to bring this new, high energy music station that will help people to be upbeat all day,” she said.
Z100 can be found on the dial at 100.1 FM.
