Water quality advisory Issued for Cape Coral Yacht Club

By Staff | Jan 19, 2024

The Florida Department of Health in Lee County has issued an advisory for the Cape Coral Yacht Club due to high bacteria counts.

Tests completed on Thursday, Jan. 18, indicate that the water quality at riverfront park does not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria recommended by the agency.

“DOH-Lee advises against any water-related activities at this location due to the potential for high bacteria levels,” a release states. “Bacteriological sampling conducted during regular water quality monitoring showed that the level of bacteria exceeds the level established by state guidelines.”

DOH-Lee will continue to monitor the water quality in this area biweekly and routinely advise the public of the results.

New test results should be available for Cape Coral Yacht Club on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

The Cape Coral Yacht Club is at 5819 Driftwood Parkway.
