Lee School District responds to state-wide bomb-threat email

Parents received an message from the School District of Lee County this morning, assuring them the district was responding appropriately to an email alleging a bomb threat against Florida schools.

The District notification stated “We wanted to bring to your attention that the School District has received an email alleging a bomb threat against Florida School Districts. This message has been circulated statewide, claiming that an individual has supposedly planted bombs in school buildings.”

The notification further stated that the safety and security of the district schools remains the district’s top priority.

“We are actively implementing all necessary protocols to ensure the protection of our educational environments. Both the FBI and local law enforcement are aware of the situation and are currently investigating the credibility of this threat,” the email stated.

No incidents were reported.
