Two manatees, a mother and calf, were found stranded in a canal connected to the Coral Oaks Golf Course today.
With the help of Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, both manatees were safely rescued, city of Cape Coral officials said.
FWC performed health assessments on the the mother and 1-month-old-calf, deemed them both to be in good health, and safely released them back into the wild.
