Update:

After further evaluation, the city has decided to temporarily close both ramps at the Cape Coral Yacht Club.

The decision was based on safety concerns due to the heavy equipment that will be used in the ramp area, officials said.

The easternmost boat ramp at the Yacht Club will be closed temporarily, beginning Wednesday.

This closure is necessary to complete sand removal work that began last week, city officials said. One boat ramp will remain open at the Yacht Club; however, there may be congestion and delays.

The boat ramp is expected to reopen around 4 p.m. on Aug. 5.
