Students representing Gypsy Playhouse, Centers for the Arts of Bonita Springs, Creative Theatre Workshop, Fort Myers Theatre and Cape Coral’s Melody Lane Performing Arts Center won a Freddie G Excellence in Dance, Music and Ensemble Work awards and earned praise and other recognition at the 2024 Junior Theater Festival Atlanta (JTF Atlanta). The monumental weekend dedicated to rewarding and celebrating excellent student-driven musical theater programs happened Jan. 12-14, at the Cobb Convention Center in Atlanta.

Gypsy Playhouse received a Freddie G Excellence in Ensemble Work award. Students Layla Butterworth and Robert Gosling were named Junior Theater Festival All-Stars, a select group of outstanding performers. Student Maybe Meeks made it to the call-back to a yet-to-be announced special project promoting musical theater in schools.

Centers of the Arts of Bonita Springs received a Freddie G Excellence in Dance award and students Cooper Vandermeer and Carter Grule were named Junior Theater Festival All-Stars, a select group of outstanding performers.

Creative Theatre Workshop received a Freddie G Excellence in Dance award. Students JJ Freitas and Sydney Butler were named Junior Theater Festival All-Stars, a select group of outstanding performers. Additionally, Sydney Butler made it to the call-back to a yet-to-be announced special project promoting musical theater in schools.

Fort Myers Theatre received a Freddie G Excellence in Ensemble Work award. Students Mia Henley and Jonathan Serrat were named Junior Theater Festival All-Stars, a select group of outstanding performers. Additionally, Katharine Cook made it to the call-back to a yet-to-be announced special project promoting musical theater in schools.

Melody Lane Performing Arts Center in Cape Coral received a Freddie G Excellence in Music Award. Students Mia Odum and Mia Pimental were named Junior Theater Festival All-Stars, a select group of outstanding performers. Additionally, Emma Justice made it to the call-back to a yet-to-be announced special project promoting musical theater in schools.
