Light agenda awaits City Council this Monday

By Staff | Dec 4, 2015

City Council will plow through another light agenda at Monday’s regular meeting in Council Chambers at City Hall. It is the next-to-last regular meeting of the calendar year before breaking for the holidays.

One ordinance and two resolutions come before council for final public hearings. One resolution authorizes the city’s local housing incentive plan to be submitted to the Florida Housing Finance Corp., and another sets the uniform method of collection for non-ad valorem special assessments levied by the city beginning Oct. 1, 2016. Approval of the document does not obligate the city to impose any new assessments.

The ordinance hearing concerns another in a recent list of property parcels to be disposed of as unusable surplus and deeding it to the adjacent property owner pending public utility, drainage and weir management easements and construction of a seawall within the next 12 months. The property is located at 1528 S.W.?28th St.

Council also will discuss a new proposal to convert the existing four-lane section of Cape Coral Parkway west of Agualinda to two lanes, one in each direction, plus a bicycle lane.

Council’s final meeting of 2015 is on Monday, Dec. 14, in Council Chambers
