Army Spc. Jeremy C. Ortiz
Army Spc. Jeremy C. Ortiz has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Benning, Ga.
During the nine-week training period, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship and bayonet training, chemical warfare, field training and tactical exercises, armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions, and core values.
Ortiz is the son of Elizabeth Moore Silverman and step-son of Wayne Silverman and son-in-law of Keyla Duarte Ortiz, all of Cape Coral.
He is a 2002 graduate of Newfield High School, Selden, N.Y.
He earned an bachelor’s degree in 2013 from Florida Southwestern State College, Fort Myers.
