Lt. Col. Sharkey assumes control of Marine Corps Logistics Command (Forward) at Camp Leatherneck

Lt. Col. John Sharkey, USMC, who had been serving as the Director of Operations, Blount Island Command, Jacksonville, Fla., has been selected by the Commanding General of Marine Corps Logistics Command, to assume command of Marine Corps Logistics Command (Forward), Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, effective April 22, 2014.
LOGCOM (Fwd) is responsible for assisting the 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade redeploy from Afghanistan and ensure all equipment and supplies are brought back for reset and reconstitution.
He will be relieving Lt. Col. Josh Kissoon.
Lt. Col. Sharkey resides in Cape Coral along with his wife, Sharon; son, John; and daughter, Colleen, who attends North Fort Myers High School.
