Army Pvt. Chadwick R. Nierop
Army Pvt. Chadwick R. Nierop has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
Nierop is the son of Robert Nierop of Lehigh Acres, and Lynnetta Dillon of Fort Myers.

Robert K. McCabe
Air Force Maj. Robert K. McCabe has assumed command of the 386th Expeditionary Contracting Squadron at a forward operating base in Southwest Asia.
The commander has served in the military for 18 years.
McCabe is the son of Janie McCabe and the brother of Dawn Miles, both of Cape Coral.
He is the grandson of Helga Gerber of Venice, Fla., and the nephew of Steve Raker of Delta, Ohio.
