PFC Jimmy Gasaway
United States Army PFC Jimmy Gasaway recently completed 38 weeks of Advanced Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) training at Eglin AFB, FL.
EOD Specialists are primarily responsible for locating, identifying, rendering safe and disposing of foreign and domestic explosive devices. Some of Gasaway’s duties as an EOD Specialist may include: Supporting VIP missions for the U.S. Secret Service, State Department and other federal agencies; Researching and identifying ordnance using explosive ordnance disposal technical publications; Detecting the presence of and identifying chemical agents; Defusing unexploded bombs; Locating, identifying and disposing of chemical munitions; Mitigating the hazards of Weapons of Mass Destruction.
PFC Gasaway will be reporting to Fort Carson, CO.
He is the son of Jon and Marcy Gasaway of Fieldon, IL (formerly of Cape Coral) and grandson of Jim and Jane Gasaway of Cape Coral.
He is a graduate of North Fort Myers High School in 2007.
