Tobol joins Physicians Primary Care of Southwest Florida

Courtney Tobol has joined Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida as an advanced practice registered nurse.

Tobol is a graduate of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, where she received a bachelor of science degrees in nursing and health science. She earned a master of science degree in nursing education from Endicott College in Beverly, Mass.

She has 14 years of nursing experience, including eight years as a registered nurse in Massachusetts and three years as an advanced practice registered nurse in Florida.

She will assist physicians at the Cape Coral Family Medicine office at 1255 Viscaya Parkway.

FSW Dental Hygiene Clinic providing low cost dental services during summer hours

Want to get your teeth cleaned and support student learning? The Dental Hygiene Clinic at Florida SouthWestern State College is currently accepting patients. The clinic is open for summer hours now through June 23, Tuesday-Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Building A on the FSW Lee Campus, 8099 College Parkway, Fort Myers.

The FSW Dental Hygiene Clinic provides low-cost dental services including examinations, cleanings, X-rays and dental sealants performed by FSW Dental Hygiene students under the guidance of professional FSW Dental Hygiene faculty. The cost is $30 for children ages 17 and under and $50 for adults.

Elite DNA Therapy Services hosting food collection drive

Elite DNA Therapy Services, a comprehensive mental and behavioral health service provider, is hosting a food collection drive May 16-31 to support area food banks in their efforts to feed local families during the summer.

According to pre-pandemic data from Feeding Florida, 3.1 million Floridians lack access to healthy food, 800,000 of which are children. Across the five-county region of Southwest Florida, more than 155,490 people are considered food insecure.

In Southwest Florida, the drive will support Harry Chapin Food Bank, which serves the five-county region of Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry and Lee counties.

The community is invited to drop off donations of food at any Elite DNA location between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Items of greatest need include canned meats and fish, canned fruits and vegetables, soups, breakfast cereal, peanut butter, rice, macaroni and cheese, pasta and more.
