Southwest Florida Symphony continues its 59th season of Pops Concerts with’ The Music of Queen!’
The Southwest Florida Symphony, Lee County’s only professional orchestra, and the fourth oldest in the state of Florida, continues its 59th season of Pops Concerts with The Music of Queen!
Premiering in 2009, Windborne’s Classic Rock Symphony show “The Music of Queen!” has quickly garnered critical fan acclaim, and the Southwest Florida Symphony brings this popular program to Southwest Florida for two performances: Jan. 31 at The Charlotte Performing Arts Center in Punta Gorda, and Feb. 1 at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College in Fort Myers.
Both performances are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
Classic songs by Queen will be presented in a way that audiences in Southwest Florida have never experienced before — performed by the rich sound of live symphony orchestra. The symphony will be conducted by Brent Havens, and accompanied by a rock band led by Brody Dolyniuk on vocals.
“When I sat down to begin scoring the show, it was amazing how comfortably the orchestra fit within the structure of the music. Innovative chord progressions, wonderful melodies and the astounding vocals of Freddie Mercury make the music a perfect choice to orchestrate. And having world class musicians in every city we present the show makes the music even that much more compelling,” said Havens, who’s also the show’s arranger.
Tickets cost between $15-109 per person and vary by venue. Tickets can be purchased online at www.swflso.org, by visiting the Southwest Florida Symphony Box Office located at 8290 College Parkway, Suite 103, in Fort Myers, by calling the Symphony Box Office at 239-418-1500 or at the door, one hour prior to each concert.
