Lee Health launches ‘On My Way’ tool to help patients
Lee Health has a new tool to help patients get the care they need without the wait.
“On My Way” is a new feature within My Chart on the Lee Health app that allows patients to check wait times, make an appointment and secure a place in line at certain urgent care clinics, all from the comfort of home. The feature is currently available at the Lee Convenient Care locations at 1682 N.E. Pine Island Road in Cape Coral and at 4771 S. Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers (near Page Field) with plans to expand to all four clinics in coming months.
Lee Convenient Care offers walk-in medical care for adults and children in a cost-effective, comfortable environment. While urgent care clinics typically function on a first-come-first-served basis, On My Way allows patients to mark their place in line, minimizing their time in the waiting room. Lee Convenient Care also accepts most insurance.
In addition to using technology to improve the experience while waiting at a doctor’s office, Lee Health recently launched Lee TeleHealth (LeeTele-Health.org), which allows patients to use the camera on their phone, tablet or computer to see a physician with the push of a button. This is an alternative for busy parents and professionals to receive a diagnosis and prescription for a variety of common ailments and injuries without leaving their home or office.

Local hospitals honored for outstanding quality
Safe, high-quality care is the hallmark of an outstanding health system and Lee Health, once again, is at the head of the pack in Florida.
The Florida Hospital Association recently awarded three Lee Health hospitals with Hospital Improvement Innovation Network awards. The FHA award honors outstanding achievement in creating a culture of patient safety, delivering value and executing evidence-based practices as part of day-to-day operations.
Cape Coral Hospital received the HIIN “Chasing Zero” Award (250 beds and over) for outstanding work to reduce patient harm and readmissions. The Chasing Zero Award is presented for achieving significant reductions in hospital-acquired infections, resulting in some of the lowest rates in the project. This is the second year in a row FHA has honored Cape Coral Hospital.
Gulf Coast Medical Center and HealthPark Medical Center received HIIN Achievement Awards for outstanding work to reduce patient harm and readmissions. The HIIN Achievement Award goes to those hospitals that meet the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services improvement goals on at least 80 percent of measures tracked as part of the program.
