‘Caregiver College’ classes remaining through October
Healthy Life Center, at 609 S.E. 13th Court in Cape Coral is offering classes in its “Caregiver College series.
When it comes to dementia caregiving, knowledge is power. The interactive educational classes can help you build your caregiver tool kit.
Remaining classes include:
Sept. 30, 10 a.m.. – noon.
“EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES”:
Learn to better understand the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia, and identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.
Oct. 7, 10 a.m.. – noon.
“UNDERSTANDING & RESPONDING TO DEMENTIA-RELATED BEHAVIOR”:
Learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common behavior triggers, and learn strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.
Oct. 14, 10 a.m.. – noon.
“CARING FOR THE CAREGIVER”:
Being a caregiver, the very best thing you can do for those who depend on you is to take care of yourself. Build skills and confidence to help reduce stress and increase overall well-being.
Oct. 21, 10 a.m.. – noon.
