Physicians Primary Care of Southwest Florida adds two family medicine physicians

Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida has added two new family medicine physicians to its staff to meet the increased demand for primary health care needs in Lee County.

Dr. Syed Sher has joined Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida as a family medicine physician and will see patients at the Cape Coral Family Medicine office at 1255 Viscaya Parkway. Dr. Karla Noel also is a family medicine physician at the Fort Myers office at 7381 College Parkway. .

Dr. Sher received his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and his bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Houston in Texas. He served his residency at Ocala Regional Medical Center in Florida.

Dr. Noel has 19 years of experience as a family medicine physician and has worked with medical practices in Hawaii, Florida and Indiana.

She earned her doctor of medicine degree from the Indiana School of Medicine in Indianapolis, and her bachelor of science degree in history and biology at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. Her residency was completed at the Lehigh Valley Family Practice in Allentown, Penn., where she was chief resident.

Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida, a physician-owned and operated medical practice, was formed in 1996 by many local physicians and has grown to become the largest independent physician-owned primary care practice in Southwest Florida.

Grunsted named to Cypress Cove manager position

Michelle Grunsted of Fort Myers has been appointed assisted living manager at Cypress Cove, a life plan community located on the south Lee County HealthPark Florida campus complex.

Grunsted, who until recently served as admissions coordinator at The Lodge (Cypress Cove’s skilled nursing facility), holds a degree in healthcare administration and management. She also is a licensed Practical Nurse.

In her new role, she is primarily responsible with overseeing staffing, staffing scheduling, programming and training of personnel at both The Inn and at The Cottage.

Cypress Cove-a not-for-profit organization, opened in 1999-is a Life Plan Community (formerly known as a continuing care retirement community) with regional and national recognition. Located on a 48-acre campus at HealthPark Florida in South Fort Myers, Cypress Cove is home to more than 600 residents and offers a full complement (515) of quality living options (independent living, home health, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care assisted living and rehabilitative care).
