Malo earns degree from UA
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — Janet Malo of Cape Coral has received a master of science degree from The University of Alabama. UA awarded 5,907 degrees during its spring commencement ceremonies on May 6-8.

White graduates from the University of Iowa
IOWA CITY, Iowa — This spring, more than 5,100 University of Iowa undergraduate, graduate and professional students earned their degrees.
Anna White of Cape Coral was among the students conferred their degrees. White was a student in the Carver College of Medicine whose program of study was medicine. The degree awarded was a doctor of medicine.

Wetmore named to President’s List at JSU
JACKSONVILLE, Alabama — Elizabeth Grace Wetmore of Cape Coral has been named to the President’s List at Jacksonville State University for outstanding academic performance over the Spring 2022 semester. To be named to the President’s List, students must earn a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester while completing at least 12 hours of GPA course credit.

Knox graduates from Washburn University
TOPEKA, Kansas — Washburn University is pleased to announce the students in its spring 2022 graduating class. More than 800 students completed their courses for certificates, associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees.
James Knox from Cape Coral earned a certificate in post graduate – PMH Nursing.

Dean’s, president’s lists students named for UA spring 2022 term
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — A total of 11,224 students enrolled during Spring Semester 2022 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean’s list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s).
The UA dean’s and president’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.
Cape Coral students listed include Alexandria Dyar, Maria Kacoyanis and Larissa Vickery.

Camp Invention at Oasis High June 20-24
Camp Invention, a nationally recognized, nonprofit summer enrichment program, is coming to Oasis High School the week of June 20-24.
Camp Invention challenges children in grades K-6 through hands-on activities, promotes STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learning; builds confidence, leadership, perseverance and resourcefulness; and encourages entrepreneurship — all in a fun and engaging environment.
This year’s Explore program hands-on activities including:
• Robotic Aquatics: Children will dive into cutting-edge ocean research as they adopt their own aquatic animals, design and patent aquatic plants, and take their new friend home in a mini tank.
• NIHF’s The Attic: Campers will combine science and art to build their own robotic artist, engage in design thinking, make spin art and learn how inventions can change the way people create.
• Spacecation: Children will discover real space exploration technology when they create Spacepacks and Astro-Arm devices, mine an asteroid and observe erupting ice volcanoes.
• Marble Arcade: Campers will experiment with the fun of physics, engineering and gaming as they design, build and test their own mega marble arcades.
