Cornelius and Mary Reisdorf celebrate their 65th anniversary

Cornelius and Mary Reisdorf are both veterans of World War II. They were married Sept. 2, 1945, at the Base Chapel, Rosecrans Field, St. Joseph, Mo.

Private Mary, a member of the Women’s Army Corps, was assigned to Quartermaster Section at Rosecrans Field.

Lt. Cornelius had returned from a B-24 bomb group in Southern Italy, where he completed 50 missions and received the Unit Citation with a cluster, Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with four clusters and the European Campaign ribbon with four clusters.

The home state for Mary was South Carolina and Cornelius grew up in North Java, N.Y. They settled in Denver, Colo. They spent 35 years there. Cornelius retired from Civil Service, Department of the Interior, U.S.G.S., and Mary retired from Larson Distributing where she was the showroom consultant and interior designer. They reared two children, Mark Alan and Nancy Carol. They have enjoyed their four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Cape Coral has been their home since 1988. Their life has been filled with activities at Cape Coral First United Metho-dist Church, the community, their friends and neighbors.
