Mariner’s Brady named Mr. Wrestling by Florida Dairy Farmers

Mariner’s Maximus Brady has been named Florida Dairy Farmers Mr. Wrestling. Brady, who won state championships in all four years at Mariner, was undefeated in his senior season at 138 pounds.
Brady finished his high school wrestling career with a 185-5 record. He has committed to Northern Iowa to wrestle on the college level.

BASEBALL
Oasis 5, Ida Baker 3: Brayden Cody doubled in two runs for the Sharks (6-12), while Noah Pinney tripled, doubled and scored twice. Jayden Shrider and Brandon Bova-Cipolla also had RBI for Oasis. The Bulldogs (10-12) got an RBI each from John Tischer and Austin Field.
Island Coast 4, Barron Collier 3 (8 innings): The drama happened in the late going as the Gators raised their record to 17-6. Island Coast tied the game 2-all in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings, then scored twice in the eighth after Barron Collier moved ahead 3-2. Archer Ellis and Ryan Muller drove in runs for the Gators.
LaBelle 4, Mariner 1: Morgan Waltz drove in Ryan Kotarski for the Tritons (14-9).
SOFTBALL
Ida Baker 13, Oasis 2 (5 innings): Kyra Cavender, one of four Sharks with two stolen bases, drove in an Oasis (10-8) run. Ida Baker picked up its third win of the season (3-8).
Mariner 1, SW Florida Christian 0: Gabi Winters allowed a hit and no walks, striking out 12 batters for the Tritons (12-4). Morgan Tucker had both Mariner hits, including driving in Calleigh Buzard for the game’s only run.
BEACH VOLLEYBALL
Charlotte 4, Bishop Verot 1: Charlotte (7-2) dropped the Vikings to 8-2 on the season.
BOYS TENNIS
Oasis 7, ECS 0: Nate Orozco won his singles match and teamed with Luciano Demaglhaes for a doubles victory. Michael Abreu, Brendan Overbaugh and Tommy Tarsia also won singles matches, while Emmanuel Diaz and Jacobo Herrera won in doubles.
