Cardinal Mooney 35, Bishop Verot 14: Defending Class 2A state champion Mooney remained undefeated (12-0), eliminating Bishop Verot. The Vikings fell to the Cougars for the second time this season. Carter Smith scored on a 1-yard run and Deshon Jenkins had a 2-yard rushing TD for the Vikings (9-4). Cardinal Mooney faces Cocoa next Friday in the FHSAA semifinals.

Cape Coral 40, Dunbar 33: The Seahawks (3-0) will face 3-0 DeSoto County on Saturday after defeating the Tigers.

Tashi Baez of Cape Coral finished 21st in the championship meet in Orlando. She had a four-round total of 764.
The Seahawks came in eighth in the team competition, finishing with a score of 3,218.
Kaylee Marburger of Ida Baker was 24th individually at 756.
