Mariner 20, Bonita Springs 17: The Tritons’ defense came up with the play of the game. Kelvin Jiminez recovered a fumble and ran it in from 50 yards out for Mariner’s winning score. Cameron Bennett had two touchdown passes, an 11-yarder to Evan Mann and a 35-yarder to Kaelan Davidson. The game was even at 17 until Jiminez’s scoop and score. Mariner improved to 3-2.

Ida Baker 35, North Port 3: Jordan Rizzo ran for two touchdowns (43 and 3 yards), Franky Rivera and Cason Humble each scored from 1 yard out and Michael McDonald caught a 10-yard pass from Kaiden Stengel. With the win, the Bulldogs are 3-1.

Bradenton Christian 10, Oasis 8: Jason McArdle Sykes scored the Sharks’ touchdown and a 2-point conversion, both on quarterback keepers. Kyle Pudelski was the leading tackler for Oasis (1-3).

Estero 3, Cape Coral 0: A standout effort by the Seahawks defense wasn’t quite enough to lift Cape to a win. Nicholas Van Port Fleet hit a 29-yard field goal in the second quarter as Estero pulled out the victory. Friday’s loss left the Seahawks at 2-2 on the year.

First Baptist Academy 56, Bishop Verot 42: Verot (3-2) came up on the short end of a shootout, despite three touchdown catches by Tookie Watts of 24, 15 and 14 yards, on throws by Carter Smith. Deshon Jenkins had touchdown runs of 8 and 1 yards, and Fidel Alviar added a 10-yarder. Jaden Booker scored five TDs for FBA (3-1).
