SPRING FOOTBALL
Bishop Verot 44, Estero 7: The Vikings piled on the points in the second half after leading 10-7 at intermission. Quarterback Carter Smith scored from 3 yards out, and Deaglan Camron hit a 41-yard field goal. Smith turned to the pass game in the second half, hitting Trevontay Watts on passes of 53 and 39 yards, and Timmy Lawson for a 70-yard catch and run. Meanwhile, Jeremiah Dean ran for 33 yards and a TD, and Bobby Leckler added a 14-yard scoring run. Friday’s game started slowly, with the first quarter featuring the Vikings’ and Wildcats’ JV players.
