2022 Lee County Athletic Hall of Fame inductees announced

The School District of Lee County has announced the Lee County Athletic Conference Hall of Fame inductees for 2022. Six athletes, one coach and one contributor are being recognized for their outstanding athletic accomplishments for their school or their students.

The Lee County Athletic Conference Hall of Fame Class of 2022: Athletes — Noel Devine of North Fort Myers High School; Isaac Harvin of Cape Coral High School; Jennifer Henshaw Seluk of Cypress Lake High School; John Tolisano of Estero High School; Kyle Waldrop of Riverdale High School; Richard Washington of Fort Myers High School; Coach — Robert “Bobby” Pringle of Riverdale High School; Contributor — Mac Kennedy of Fort Myers High School

Devine is Lee County’s all-time leading rusher with 6,846 yards. He was named a US Army All-American in 2007. Devine is a member of the North Fort Myers High School Hall of Fame. This past fall he was inducted into the West Virginia University Hall of Fame.

Harvin was a State Champion in the 200 meters and 2nd in the 100 meters. He broke the 4A state record in the 200-meter race. He is recognized as one of the top 200-meter sprinters in the nation.

Henshaw Seluk was a three-time State Champion, District Champion, and Conference Champion in the 200 Individual Medley. She was named News-Press Swimmer of the Year before swimming at Florida State.

Tolisano holds nearly every offensive baseball record at Estero High School. He was All News-Press in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007, and twice the News-Press Baseball Player of the Year. Tolisano was also a two-time All-American and 2nd Round Draft Pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in 2007.

Waldrop was Florida Athletic Coaches Association 1st Team All-District and 1st Team All-Conference in Football in 2009. He was also All- District 1st Team for baseball and a Louisville Slugger 1st Team National All-American. Waldrop was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds and after seven years with the organization spent one final season on a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners.

Washington is ranked No. 3 on The News-Press’ list of all-time Fort Myers High School football players. He was 1st Team All-Southwest Florida (Offensive Player of the Year), 1st Team Florida Athletic Coaches Association District 16, 1st Team All-State and 1st Team All SWFL while setting numerous school records. Washington was nominated to the U.S. Army All- American Bowl, named a Prepstar magazine All- American, and listed as Rivals100 number six wide receiver in the nation.

Pringle is the winningest baseball coach in Lee County Athletic Conference history. He amassed 374 wins as head baseball coach, three District championships, five District runners-up, one Regional Championship team, and one State Runner-up team (first public school in Lee County history to play for a Baseball State Championship). Pringle was LCAC Coach of the Year two times and selected as Florida Athletic Coaches Association 4A Baseball Coach of the Year in 2008.

Kennedy has coached more than 10,000 swimmers through the Swim Florida program. More than 300 have earned college scholarships. Kennedy was recognized by the American Swim Coaches Association as a Coach of Excellence several times. He coached 21 individual State Champion swimmers who attended six different Lee County Schools.

The inductees will be honored at a banquet scheduled for Thursday, April 21, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. and tickets are available for purchase for $25 per person.
