Boys Basketball

North Fort Myers 66, Oasis 63: Quentin Wimbush scored 25 points and Atavious Weaver had 18 to lead the Red Knights. North improved to 9-11 on the season. The Sharks (3-13) had four players in double figures: Dominic Anderson 18, Jaden Arzola 14, Bertuary Anderson 14 and Nick Brown 10.

Gateway 79, Ida Baker 75: The Bulldogs’ eight-game winning streak was snapped (11-6). Gateway continued to be the surprise team of Lee County, moving to 13-5. Ishmael Hajmoussa had 23 points and 10 rebounds for Ida Baker. Gateway was led by Tavian Cook 25 points, with Colin Alvarez adding 23.

Girls Basketball

Golden Gate 57, Cape Coral 45: For the Seahawks (17-5), it was their third loss in four games. Golden Gate edged above .500 for an 11-10 record.

Community School of Naples 47, Oasis 23: Bethany Cabral scored eight points for the Sharks (9-7).

Girls Soccer

District 5A-12 Tournament: North Fort Myers and Mariner, ranked Florida’s top two teams in Class 5A by the FHSAA, are the 1-2 seeds for the district tournament. Cape Coral, 10th in the state rankings, faces Dunbar in the first round on Thursday. Also Thursday, Ida Baker plays at Charlotte. The semifinals on Jan. 31 will see North against the Ida Baker/ Charlotte winner and Mariner take on the Cape/Dunbar victor. The tournament final is Feb.2.

District 4A-12 tournament: Island Coast plays Port Charlotte on Wednesday in the first round. The winner gets top seed Lemon Bay on Friday. Championship night is Feb. 2. Bonita Springs is the second seed in the tourney.

District 3A-10 Tournament: Bishop Verot, ranked ninth in Class 3A by the FHSAA, is the top seed, with Oasis seeded second. Both teams get a first-round bye, with Verot playing either Gateway or Gateway Charter on Friday. Oasis gets Community School of Naples, which also has a first-round bye, in the other semifinal. The championship match is Feb. 3.

Boys Soccer

District 5A-12 Tournament: Charlotte earned the top seed and Cape Coral the second spot in the tournament, which begins Jan. 28. Both teams have byes. On Friday, Ida Baker (4) faces Dunbar (5) and Mariner (3) takes on North Fort Myers (6). Charlotte gets the Mariner-North winner in the Feb.1 semifinals and Cape takes on either Ida Baker or Dunbar. The championship match is Feb.3.

District 4A-12 Tournament: Play opens Thursday with Island Coast taking on Bonita Springs for the right to play No. 1 seed LaBelle in the Feb. 1 semifinals. Lemon Bay is the second seed. District 4A-12’s championship match is Feb. 3.

District 3A-10 Tournament: Bishop Verot is the top seed, with Community School of Naples second and Oasis third. All get first-round byes. The semifinals are Saturday, with either Gateway or Gateway Charter playing Bishop Verot while Oasis taking on CSN. The winners meet for the district title on Feb. 2.
